![]() ![]() With stuff like Slate who comes up with subscription and people suddenly don't want to drop $300 on a plugin. Anybody actually using these?Īlso, audio is getting more and more competitive. ![]() That said, they're pushing the Maschine expansion ads everywhere like crazy. Guitar Rig is no longer the software to get since people realized there's plenty of other options, including free plugins + IRs. Serum killed Massive/FM8 sales, Reaktor and Absynth are too nerdy and complex for most people. Really, Kontakt is the biggest product for NI. There's Polyplex, Mod Pack, Crush Pack (both are really musical and useful). Massive X is coming in February for Komplete 12. There's loads of stuff to discover in Reaktor 6 (Blocks! you get a whole modular system there), stuff like Rounds, Kontour, Form and Flesh. ![]() If you desperately need your samples in all the plugins, you can cry, but for just using them again it's not a problem at all.Ĭlick to expand. Not really. This policy change will prevent them from being able to have Kontakt support. And then still, you can just open Kontakt in your DAW and record several notes then import the recordings into MPC.ĮDIT 2: they also seem to have software that allows you to create in a single program and export to all the Kontakt/EXS24 etc so you don't have to do the same work in each program. Again, no biggie unless you really need to play your strings from Kontakt on an MPC. A side-effect of this is that by locking you from taking the files out, they also block that company from creating converter programs. Of course they're crying when NI is basically taking half of their business out by preventing them from supporting Kontakt files.Īlso, the reason for NI to do so is sample companies don't really want people to get and save the raw WAV files from their libraries. Most other samplers work the same way and use their own formats that are not compatible with each other.ĮDIT: The company that spread the news is crying a lot because they're selling software that converts between Kontakt/EXS24/UVI Falcon/MOTU MachFive/Reason NN-XT/SFZ/Alchemy/Ableton/SampleTank/HALion/SF2/AKAI/IL DirectWave/TAL-Sampler. you can always just open the patch in Kontakt and save all samples as WAV/AIFF if you want to archive your own stuff (some paid libraries won't allow you to mess with the raw samples though.Kontakt still loads SFZ and whatnot just fine so you can create your samples in SFZ for futureproofing and load them into Kontakt that way.you can't load Halion/Sampletank in Kontakt or SFZ players, either, so it's not only the bad evil NI who does this. And that you won't be able to count on 3rd party "convert Kontakt to soundfont" programs anymore. The news is literally only that you can't load Kontakt libraries (both paid and self-made) in stuff like IK Sampletank, Steinberg Halion or whatever other sampler you're using. ![]()
